About the Role:
Fin & Crab is looking for a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team in beautiful Charleston, SC! This is your chance to bring your kitchen expertise to a dynamic environment where great food and great culture go hand in hand. Responsibilities:
- Assist the Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations and menu execution
- Supervise, train, and mentor line cooks and kitchen staff
- Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and portion control
- Manage prep schedules and oversee mise en place for all stations
- Monitor food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards in compliance with health codes
- Assist with inventory management, ordering, and cost control
- Step in as acting head of kitchen in the absence of the Executive Chef
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in a Sous Chef or senior line cook role
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety standards
- ServSafe certification or equivalent food handler's license preferred
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a kitchen team in a high-volume setting
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required
- A collaborative, positive attitude with a passion for great food
